UK packaging guide / E-commerce

Packaging for E-commerce Brands

E-commerce packaging has to survive the delivery network while making the first opening feel deliberate. The best specification balances protection, storage, packing speed and the cost of sending air.

Use the product, route to customer and quantity to choose the right packaging specification.

Design for the packed product

Mailer and corrugated boxes are common starting points for direct-to-customer orders. Give us the packed dimensions, weight, number of items and any void-fill or insert requirement.

  • Measure the packed order as it will leave the warehouse.
  • Consider how quickly the team needs to assemble and pack each box.
  • Leave a sensible amount of room for protective material.

Make the outside work hard

The outside can carry the brand while the board and closure do the protective work. We can discuss print coverage, kraft or white board, coatings and practical opening details.

Plan the first run

Typical starting quantities are between 100 and 500 units depending on the specification. Request a quote with your quantity and UK delivery postcode so we can confirm what is realistic.
