Plan around the waffle on the plate
Describe the waffle size, shape and usual serving, including toppings or a paper liner packed with it. Measure the finished portion and say whether the box is used for collection, takeaway or another handover. If several waffles share a box, note their arrangement and any separate cup or sauce pot.
Decide how toppings and heat affect the brief
Explain whether the food is packed warm and whether oil, sauce or steam may reach the packaging. Openings or vents are design requests, not a guarantee that a waffle will stay crisp, so describe the need and ask for the format to be reviewed.
A practical waffle-box checklist
- Waffle dimensions, count and topping arrangement
- Collection, takeaway or serving use
- Warmth, moisture, sauce or grease exposure
- Direct contact, liner and ventilation request
- Approved artwork, quantity and delivery postcode
Check food contact and closure in the chosen use
Send the final logo and product wording for each design. Review closure and portion fit with a sample or drawing, and have your food business approve the final information. FSA guidance covers legal requirements for food packaging and labelling; confirm material and order details for your service conditions.
