Define how the ballot box will be used
Give the ballot or card size, approximate number to be collected and where the box will stand. If it will be moved during the event, include that in the brief.
Specify the slot, access and handling
Describe the opening size and position, how the box will be emptied and who needs access. If you require a seal, lock or viewing panel, list the exact feature and ask for its operation to be confirmed. The box name alone does not establish security or suitability for an official election.
Information to include in a ballot-box brief
- Ballot or card dimensions and expected quantity
- Slot location and opening size
- Placement, movement and emptying method
- Any specified seal, lock or printed instructions
- Event artwork, quantity and delivery postcode
Review the assembled box for your event
Ask for a drawing or sample showing the slot and access method. Check that the planned ballots fit and that the instructions and artwork are correct. Confirm the construction and order details in writing before production.
