Clarify what the outer box needs to hold
Say whether the carton goes around a sealed food bag or can, groups several packs for retail, or holds another product format. Measure the finished pack with its closure and share the filled weight. If the box is intended to touch the feed directly rather than contain a sealed pack, make that explicit so the required material suitability can be checked.
Design the layout for the range
For several recipes or bag sizes, provide the product names, weights and dimensions by version. If you expect boxes to be handled or stacked in a particular way, include that use and request a suitable specification instead of relying on an unverified strength claim.
Information for a pet-food packaging brief
- Bag, can or other inner-pack dimensions
- Filled weight and number of packs per carton
- Recipe, pack-size and artwork variants
- Insert, scoop or information-card request
- Quantity, delivery postcode and handling needs
Keep the pack details accurate
Send approved brand artwork and product wording for each recipe. Check that the product name and declared pack size match the item being boxed. Confirm the proposed carton, any insert, print, quantity, price and timing in the written quote.
