Size the box for the cookie count
Start with the largest cookie, how many go in each box and whether they are stacked, arranged in rows or individually wrapped. Include decorations, dividers or a tray that will stay in the pack. If you sell several sizes or assortments, list the dimensions and quantity for each rather than assuming one box will suit every range.
Choose how customers will see and carry them
Say whether the cookies are sold from a counter, given as a gift or sent by post. A window, insert or partition may suit the presentation, but each feature needs to be checked against the box structure and contents; none is assumed to be included. If the cookies are fragile, explain how they are currently arranged and handled.
Check food-contact and printed information
Packaging materials, printing inks and adhesive labels can all be relevant to food contact, so the exact construction must be checked for the intended use. Provide approved ingredients, allergen and product wording for the artwork, then review the proof with the responsible food business before sign-off.
